In 2001, following the assassination of Laurent-Désiré Kabila, I was sent to the Democratic Republic of Congo on behalf of Oxfam. The aim was to document people in their every day and their access to healthcare and clean water, as opposed to directly reporting the war. 
A larger selection of images were later presented at the UN update in a joint publication by Oxfam, Save the Children and Médecins Sans Frontières.
