Anna Leader is a London-based interior designer and internationally acclaimed photographer. Her photography work spans film sets to architecture, has been exhibited in both commercial galleries and public museums and is held in several private collections.
Leader’s progression from a photographer of existing spaces into creating interiors, developed through a desire to bring to life permanent environments for people to live, work and socialise in. Growing up between rural southern France and an iconic modernist building in central London was formative for her aesthetic as a designer, which aims to touch the point where tradition and innovation meet, through narrative, research and an open approach to using new and sustainable materials.
Collaboration is key to Leader’s approach, working with architects, furniture designers, curators, researchers, and master builders. Perhaps most importantly, listening to the clients remains at the core of her creative process.
With completed projects as an interior and lighting designer in both residential and hospitality sectors, Leader’s other experience lies within creative production and research for built cultural projects in the UK, Europe and China for organisations such as the British Council, The Wellcome Trust and RIBA
